Oh my..where has the time gone! It's been awhile since I've had the opportunity to sit down and write. I've had lots on my plate but also have had many thoughts running thru my head.
But I want to talk about Spring and Summer! I love them both! Cute shorts, tank tops, sandals, parties, weddings, vacations, etc....this winter has been long and I'm craving warm weather.
Springtime is the sign of Renewal! And with all that, it's time to get outside!
For those wondering (or worrying), it's time to get up and start Walking! Walking is a great way to begin a fitness program and shed the winter weight. It will make you come alive and then you can begin thinking positive and motivate yourself to exercise more.
Many communities have parks with walking trails and are free and opened to the public. The Parks and Rec will have the mileage marked out and you will enjoy being in nature, getting fresh air, hearing the birds sing and enjoying the blossoming of spring. Grab a friend and gab your way thru 3-4 miles of daily walking and next thing you know, you'll be having to wear a belt with your pants!
Once you become stronger, get a pair of 3-5lb hand weights and start swinging your arms along, and you will notice how much better your tank tops look!
Eating healthy seems to be easier in the Springtime as well. It's a good time to make healthy choices of fruits and veggies and eating fresher. Apples are one of the best choices. Eating 2 day, one in the morning and one at the afternoon sleepies can really boost your energy levels. I'm hooked on organic Fuji....so sweet, but they are big, so I split them.
Drinking your water....and yes, you can add Crystal Light. Your body needs water. From your muscles to your skin, drink, drink, drink!
And since Springtime is a time of Renewal, try leaving what's in the past behind you and move forward. Forgiveness is a powerful tool and forgiving those who have hurt you will release you to breath a little deeper, sleep a little better, lose a little more weight, think a bit more clearer, you get the pic. When you have anger, bitterness, and strife hanging around, its easy to eat out of emotions. So deal with your heart and get clean from the inside out! You will be amazed at the transformation you will have!
And last but not least, talk to me, I've been on this journey! Ask me questions, I am available by personal email at lesliear@bellsouth.net. You can also hit me up on Facebook at Leslie Raper. Or if you need to get out and walk...just say so!
Love you all!
p.s. If you live in Black Mountain, keep your eyes open for a possible 3x a week fitness class.....
